The Ivor Chair’s form has been designed around the central half-lap joint from where the legs radiate out at 45 degrees, to create a lighter, minimal structure. The Ivor Chair 001 features an upholstered seat and gently curved, upholstered back rest to provide ample comfort and good posture.
The Ivor Chair is available to purchase online in one standard size in Oak or Walnut and a selection of finishes and upholsteries.
We believe quality furniture begins with quality materials. Every piece is crafted from carefully selected hardwoods and natural materials chosen for their strength, beauty, and ability to endure.
Our timber is sourced from responsibly managed forests through trusted suppliers who share our commitment to sustainable forestry. We select every board for its grain, stability, and character, allowing the natural qualities of the wood to define each piece.
We use a low VOC, water-based coating or natural oil finish on all our furniture, which are non-toxic, easy to maintain, and keep the timber looking and feeling as natural as possible.
The leathers and linens we specify are chosen with the same care. Selected for their quality, tactility, and longevity, they complement the warmth of solid timber and are intended to age well through years of use. We favour natural materials whose beauty lies not only in their appearance, but in the richness they develop over time.

For us, sustainability is inseparable from longevity. We create furniture designed to be repaired, lived with, and passed on—pieces that become part of the stories of the homes they inhabit. Caring for natural materials helps preserve their character and ensures they continue to age beautifully over time.
Solid wood may expand and shrink if exposed to fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Take care not to store or place your furniture anywhere with excessive changes in temperature or moisture content - such as immediately adjacent radiators and windows.
Clean timber with a soft, damp cloth and a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or products containing ammonia or bleach. Wipe off spilled liquids immediately to avoid stains from forming on the wood. Do not use silicone based polishes, as they will build up and leave a sticky residue on the surface.
Our dead-matt, water based coating is highly protective, hard wearing and requires no maintenance. In the event of a deep scratch, the surface can be lightly re-sanded and refinished. However, we recommend that you contact us with photos for advice or a professional furniture maker before doing so.
We recommend oiling your furniture every 2-3 years, depending on the usage. If your furniture has a natural oil finish, at the time of delivery notification we will advise you on the best product to use to refresh, restore and protect the oil finish when the surface feels too dry or rough, or when the finish has worn down due to heavy use.
To care for leather upholstery, dust with a dry cloth and as needed, apply a leather conditioner or similar leather-cleaning product to keep the material soft and moisturised. This will also help keep cracks, stains and other discoloration from setting in. For linen, spot clean with a clean cloth and a mild, pH-neutral detergent.
If your fabric is on a COM basis, we recommend that you contact the individual fabric house for specific care instructions.
If you wish to supply your own fabric, simply select the COM option when creating an order. Once your order is confirmed, we will provide you with the exact meterage or number of hides required based on your chosen product size or quantity, and we will arrange for the fabric or leather to be delivered directly to our workshop.
The Capsule Collection only offers the option to purchase this product in two standard sizes and finishes, but you can request a quote for an alternative standard size or customisation in the Products section of our website for this piece.
We deliver anywhere within South Africa and the United Kingdom. Delivery costs are calculated based on your location and the size of your order. White-glove delivery service is available at an additional cost, to be discussed via email after your order has been placed.
As our furniture is made to order, we do not accept returns unless the item is damaged or defective upon delivery. Please inspect your furniture upon delivery and report any issues within 48 hours.
